1 MAC = All cases designated MAC are manufactured from MOD-A-CAN's proprietary tooling. There is no tooling charge for any of these cases.
2 XXXCX = XXXCX - The relevant Specification: 639CX = MS33639. 638CX = MS33638. ATICX = ARINC.
XXXCX - The nominal case diameter: 1", 1 1/2", 2", or 3 1/4", or ARINC size designation: 2, 3, 3x4, etc.
3 XXXR = Rs. The side radius of the cases.
  1. For square-cornered cases, XXX is the INSIDE radius +0, -3/64
  2. For round-cornered cases, XXX is the OUTSIDE radius ±.010
  3. For round cases, omit this section of P/N Code.
4 XXXTXX = XXXTXX - The wall thickness of the case ±10%
XXXTXX - The tube material: AL = Aluminum, BR = Brass
5 XXXL = The overall outside length of the case and bezel assembly when purchased assembled, or the length of the tube section only, when purchased separately or unassembled. The standard length tolerance is ± .015. A closer tolerance is available at additional cost.
6 XXX = Case Style (See options A, B, & C)

XXXP
(Option A)
= Back plate thickness for a closed case. Normal thicknesses used are .032, .040, .050, .063, .090, .125, (±10%). Any thickness back plate may be used with any thickness tubing. (Heavier back plates are suggested to add rigidity to the entire structure.) The back plate is dip-brazed onto the tube per MIL-B-7883, Grade B. The inside bottom radius between the back plate and the tube is 1/16 Max. MOD-A-CAN's price includes a reasonable back plate modification.

OBE
(Option B)
= Open both ends. (No back plate.)

BEZXX
(Option C)
= A standard BEZEL attached to the front end of the tube. XX specifies the material: AL= Aluminum, BR = Brass.
7 XXXG = Method of assembly:
  • EPYG = Bezel, case and glass epoxied together
  • SOLG = Bezel, case and glass soldered together
  • EXRG = Bezel, case and glass soldered together with expansion ring
  • BREG = Bezel, case brazed together, Glass epoxied.

FINISH:
Cases are normally furnished complete with MIL-SPEC plated and/or painted final finishes. (Flat black #37038 or flat grey #36118 per Federal STD No. 595).
